Algorithms weight evidence from independent sources far more heavily than self-declaration, because they know you wrote your own website.

There is a credibility hierarchy the algorithm applies, and most brands underestimate the top tier. Self-published content is the weakest signal. Independent online citations are stronger. Offline activity brought online is the strongest of all. A conference organiser choosing you to speak is a peer-review event: a human selection process the algorithm cannot manufacture or dismiss. When that selection, the talk, the event write-up, and the post-event coverage are all brought online as structured, attributed content, the algorithm sees evidence it weights above everything else. For most established founders, past offline activity - keynotes, panels, award judging, industry events - is the highest-value unleveraged credibility asset they have.
