The Temporal dimension of Jason Barnard's Proof Dimensions framework. Temporal proof establishes WHEN something happened and WHO was first. It has three sub-components: Primacy (who introduced/coined something first), Anchoring (explicit dating of claims), and Continuity (duration of commitment over time). Temporal proof answers "Who said it first?" and "How long have they been saying it?"

Temporal proof is about time-based credibility. When you can claim "coined in 2017," that's primacy. When content is explicitly dated, that's anchoring. When you've been consistently talking about something for years, that's continuity. Jason Barnard's authority on AEO comes from temporal proof: he coined it in 2017 (primacy), his articles are dated (anchoring), and he's been writing about it consistently since (continuity). Time creates proof that's hard to fake.

In disputes over who originated an idea, temporal proof wins. Algorithms track provenance - who said something first becomes the "seed" for that concept. This is why dating your content matters, why claiming coining dates matters, and why consistent long-term coverage builds authority. Temporal proof establishes you as the originator, not a follower.
